11th European Open Days

Another successful edition of the Open Days – European Week of Regions and Cities, organized by the Directorate-General for Regional Policy of the European Commission (DG REGIO) and the Committee of the Regions (CoR) took place in Brussels on 7-10 October 2013. Mostra was contracted to implement the event.

The four-day event attracted some 6 000 participants and speakers from across Europe’s cities and regions as well as around 170 journalists to a range of seminars on regional policy issues. This year saw particular focus given to the new legislative proposals for Regional Policy that will come into force in 2014 and the funds allocated under the EU budget 2014-2020. A highlight of this year’s programme was the ‘100 EUrbansolutions for better cities’ exhibition which promoted projects in the towns and cities of the EU and was co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Mostra again worked with its event partner Destrée Organisation to set up this important fixture on the calendars of regional policy practitioners. In addition to the main event, Mostra was in charge of the Regiostars 2014 Awards – Presentation of Finalists, the prize-giving ceremony for the ‘Europe in my Region’ photo competition and the inauguration of the ‘100 EUrbansolutions’ exhibition.
